Creating Sustainable Livelihoods requires a mission focused on lasting impact. In many ways investment is what underprivileged communities need, but it must be done correctly. A heavy handed approach, or a profit only focus can lead to damaging results.

Inclusivity matters, skills training matters. The goal must be a “vehicle” of empowerment for these communities to enrich their own lives. We are just the vehicle.

The goods created in the workshop are based on craftsmanship and quality. Our goal is to create pieces that provide a richness in story and utility for generations to come.

In 2015 we piloted the workshop concept in Kampala, over 3 weeks we created the pieces pictured here and more. Building on that experience we are establishing a workshop in Arua, Uganda.
